Sustainable Fabrics through Smart Upcycling
At Resotex, we believe that sustainability is the key to a healthier planet. That's why we specialize in providing high-quality fabrics from dead stocks, making a difference through smart upcycling. This is a concept that is both fashionable and environmentally friendly. Learn more about our method and how it significantly reduces new fabric production and water consumption.
What Does Dead Stock Mean?
Dead stock refers to fabrics that were produced but never sold or used. Often, these materials are considered surplus and end up in landfills, which is a waste of resources and a burden on the environment. At Resotex, we give them a new lease on life.
Sustainability at Resotex
Our approach to sustainability is based on the principle of upcycling - the process of transforming waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or environmental value. Through the smart upcycling of dead stocks, we've managed to save over 500,000 square meters of new fabric production. That's roughly equivalent to 70 football fields!
Additionally, we reduce water consumption. The textile industry is one of the largest water consumers globally. Through upcycling dead stocks, we've saved over 1.2 million liters of water - enough to supply nearly half a million people with water for a day.
At Resotex, we take pride in building our business on the foundation of sustainability and responsible practices. We offer not only high-quality fabrics but fabrics that make a difference.
How We Work at Resotex
Our work process at Resotex is transparent and thoughtful, aiming to ensure both quality and sustainability.
We acquire fabrics: Our dead stock fabrics come primarily from excess and surplus productions of reputable fashion brands from Italy. By purchasing these fabrics, we prevent them from going unused or wasted.
Through this method, we minimize waste, conserve resources, and contribute to reducing the environmental impact of the textile industry. Explore our collections and join us in making a difference. Because at Resotex, we believe that fashion and sustainability can go hand in hand.
Why Are Dead Stock Products More Sustainable Than Certified Materials?
Certified materials play a significant role in the fashion industry, as they ensure compliance with certain ecological and social standards. These may include organic cotton cultivation, fair working conditions, or the avoidance of harmful chemicals, for example through certifications like the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or the Fairtrade label. However, dead stock products take sustainability a step further. Here are some reasons why:
